Principal's Message

 

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child(ren) to Junction City Elementary.  Our school is an extraordinary place where our staff is committed to working closely with each other, our parents and members of the Junction City community.  While our teaching staff works diligently to maintain high educational standards, we also work tirelessly to provide our students, and their families, with the necessary supports to see that all of our students are successful.  Our curriculum is rigorous and challenging.  As a district, we are charged with the responsibility of preparing all students for college and careers by the end of high school and we want to ensure that all our students will be competitive in the 21st century.  At Junction City, our goal is to teach students to read and think critically, to be good problem solvers, and effective communicators (both orally and in print). We want to provide ways in which our students can utilize technology in relevant ways throughout their elementary school years. 

The Junction City Staff is committed to working collaboratively with you, our parents, to provide results oriented instruction that focuses on the success and achievement of each student.  We count on you to partner with us to continue our mission to provide a “top notch” education to each child.  We highly encourage you to take an active role in the academic growth of your children by reading to your children, monitoring the completion of homework, having rich and robust conversations with your children, and making sure they are in school on time each attendance day unless they are ill.  With the way instruction is delivered, it is impossible to make up the lost time by simply assigning homework. 

We feel privileged to work with your children!  Our students are well behaved, cooperative, and strive to do well.  I’m so proud of the efforts our students exhibit on a daily basis.  I’m equally as proud of the superb commitment our staff has to your children as well.  The Junction City staff cares deeply about the academic growth of each student, but we also care about their emotional, social, behavioral, and physical growth, as well.  Be assured that your children are in the best of hands at Junction City Elementary School.
