The council makes decisions on a wide range of school matters, including:

• Scheduling

• Curriculum

• Staffing

• Instructional practices

• Discipline

• Extracurricular activities

• And other topics critical to the success of our school

Each May, school-facilitated elections are held for both parent and teacher representatives. Members serve two-year terms, which run from July 1 through June 30.

Parents, stepparents, or legal guardians of students currently enrolled at Junction City Elementary are eligible to run. However, the following individuals are not eligible:

• School or district employees

• Relatives of school or district employees

• Local school board members

• Spouses of school board members
